Practice News Story-3
CRIME

Two CPU’s were stolen from a church building on the East Side of Logan on January 31.

A chapel belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on the corner of 1600 E 900 N. was vandalized by two unknowns. Sheriff Deputy Geoffrey Hasty said he believes two juveniles entered through an office window around 1:45a.m. the one opening the window as to unlock the door for his accomplice.

Physical Management Manager Robert Knots commented that he came to repair ceiling tiles, only to see two CPU’s on the floor. Through further investigation Knots said he found Bishop Lawrence Shirks window open, leading everyone to believe this was done by juveniles.

Bishop Lawrence Shirk said he received a call at 7:00 a.m. reporting the trespassing and the vandalism of the church building. Bishop Shirk upon questioning said he recalls leaving the window open the night of the 31st. “It was raining out, and I just wanted to listen to the rain and relax after my interviews.” “Luckily there was only minor damage.”

Evelyn Breathwaite a witness across the street said she heard noises at 1:45a.m. Evelyn thought it was the garbage man. So she instinctively went back to bed.

This could have been avoided.
