World’s Toughest Mountain Bike Race
Jaco, Costa Rica - the 15 year anniversary of La Ruta de los Conquistadors otherwise known as the most difficult race on the planet will commence November 14 2007.
La Ruta follows the same course taken by the Conquistadors of old, in their search for gold. Taking the Conquistadors 20 years to complete the journey form cost to cost, riders racing are given 4 days, facing over 300 miles of uninhabitable jungle. In this quest for survival to finish, riders will face 9 microclimates, over 30,000 feet of elevation gain, and whatever else mother nature has in store.
