Extra Practice News Story3-CRIME

A Church vandalized, leaves no answers.

Two Computer Processing Units were stolen, and two more were found broken, in a church house on Logans east side.

A chapel belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on the corner of 1600 E 900 N. was found vandalized. Sheriff Deputy Geoffrey Hasty said he believes one juvenile entered through an office window, and then went around to open the door for his accomplice. We suspect the crime took place some where between 11p.m. and 2p.m. Our investigation is still under way, but its clear that they stole two computer processing units and proceeded to throw two computer monitors on the floor in a hallway.

Physical Management Manager Robert Knotz was first to arrive at the church. That morning he planned on replace ceiling tiles, only to find a mess of broken computer monitors in the hallway. Upon further investigation he came across an open office door, belonging to Bishop Lawrence Shirk. Bishop Shirks window was found unlatched and opened.

Bishop Shirk received the phone call around 7a.m informing him of the incident. Upon questioning he said he recalls having left the window open that night, January 31. Bishop Shirk stated he had been in his office for hours, till about 11p.m. and just simply forgot to lock his window. “Luckily there was only minor damage.”

Evelyn Breathwaite a witness across the street, said she had heard loud noises around 1:45a.m. “I honestly thought it was the garbage man.” “So I went back to bed.” Evelyn has never seen anything like this in the 50 years she has lived here.

I liked the first line, it caught my attention. There were a couple punctuation errors, but all in all it was very well written. Good job!
